Music | Icona Pop & Eric Saade light up 'Så Mycket Bättre'.

Another season of 'Så Mycket Bättre' has come to a close and without doubt, the highlights were the appearances of Icona Pop and Eric Saade.

'Så Mycket Bättre' (English: 'So Much Better) is a Swedish TV show in which a group of well-known singers take turns putting their own unique spin on each other's catalogue every week. It makes for a fun show and of course, new music every week from some of the best in Swedish show business.

Icona Pop made the show unmissable. With their infectious energy, unique vocal flair and predilection for all-out pop bangers, they were quite literally, the life of the party. My favourite performance was their take on Eric Saade's Hearts In The Air. His reaction is everything.

As for Eric Saade himself, it was amazing to see a more vulnerable and creative side to him. He had the most consistent hit rate & the most imaginative covers that I hope will extend into his future work and the next phase of his stellar career. More than the songs, it was the artistic reinvention of himself that was the best thing he did on the show. But if I had to pick a performance (and this was no easy feat), I would probably go with his contemporary take on Kikki Danielsson's iconic 80s anthem Bra Vibrationer:

Continuing the love for Saade, a special mention to newcomer Sabina Ddumba and her cover of his debut hit Manboy, turning it from a plastic-yet-bombastic '10s pop song to a soulfully sultry '80s-inspired track:

Amazing.
