Armenian-American songstress Tamar Kaprelian has been teasing us for weeks, with lyrics, snippets and snatches of choreography of an exciting new project.
She’s now unveiled her brand new song as well as her bid to compete in Depi Evratesil 2018, Armenia’s national selection for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.
The song is called Poison (Ari, Ari) and it’s all kinds of brilliant. Cop a listen:
A definitive ear worm that lodges in your brain, Poison (Ari, Ari) features traditional Armenian flutes & instrumentation, but with a modern sound. We’re getting Sirusho-meets-J.LO vibes, but still very much Tamar Kaprelian. That 'Ari, Ari' chant just makes you want to shake a hip.
The performance will be directed by Arthur Gourounlian, who has previously directed Kylie Minouge, Cheryl Cole & Girls Aloud. So we can be assured that there will be no shortage of sass and sizzle on stage. Add to that Tamar’s incredible beauty and charismatic personality, you’ve got a true showman ready to slay.
This Arizona-native has previously graced the Eurovision stage, back in 2015 as part of an Armenian supergroup Genealogy.
Will she fly the flag solo this year? We can’t wait to find out!
Poison (Ari, Ari) has been written and composed by Tamar Kaprelian, DerHova (Armenia, Eurovision 2008) and Sebu (Billboard 2013).
