Nordic superstar and Finland's 2018 Eurovision representative Saara Aalto has unveiled the first of three potential entries to the Contest.

Monsters is an insanely catchy dance-pop track with a liberal serving of Saara's unique brand of OOT theatrics and quirkiness. Touching on themes of inclusiveness and assertiveness and styled in a gothic maximalism, this is exactly the sort of the song I wished for Saara to bring to the table. It's very much in line with her trademark style and sound, but ramped up to competitive level.

If this is only the first song, I'm on tenterhooks to listen to the remaining two (dropping next Friday and Friday after next). The Finnish public will then vote for the song that will become Finland's entry to the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.

Monsters has been written and composed by Saara herself, along with Eurovision-winning songwriters Joy Deb & Linnea Deb, as well as Ki Fitzgerald.

You can catch it as the latest addition to the Alien MixTape 'Destination Eurovision' here as well download it on Apple Music here.
